Meeting Minutes–March 10, 2011

North Park Neighborhood Council All-Members Meeting

GUEST SPEAKER: Kent Police Chief Ken Thomas

Chief Thomas reported that crime in North Park has gone down in the past year and that the Kent Police Department is using evidence-based data to determine the level of need for patrols. What does this mean for North Park residents? It means that we need to CALL 9-1-1 and report anything that looks suspicious or any crime that we see being committed. He emphasized that the number of calls per area help the department to determine the need for patrolling.  DO NOT HESITATE to call 9-1-1, because our calls go to a Call Center and there are plenty of people to answer all calls.  Do not hesitate because you think your information isn’t important enough! Let the police decide! They want to hear from residents who see suspicious activity or crimes occurring.
