Neighborhood Yard Sale June 3-5!
Clean out your closets and make some cash!
Combine your spring cleaning with a neighborhood yard/garage sale to be held Friday to Sunday, June 3–5.
All you need to do is get your stuff ready! The Neighborhood Association will advertise the sale in the Little Nickel and Craig’s List, plus we’ll post area signs.
*** Participate on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday — or all 3 days. ***
Set your stuff out in your own yard or garage ** OR ** set up your display at the Tot Lot or the vacant lot at James St. & 4th Ave. (We’ll be in touch to let you know if the vacant lot is available.)
Consider using BALLOONS to mark your house!
TIPS:
>> Attach price tags. Clearly price everything with masking tape and bright markers. Put like things together. Use tables to make it easier to view your merchandise. Borrow clothing racks, if possible. Lay out your things so people can easily see everything.
>> Use helpers. Assign your helpers specific tasks—managing the crowds, answering questions, making sales, taking payments, and providing laughter and fun.
>> Be prepared. Have an extension cord handy so people test check electric items. Have shopping bags or boxes handy to help people collect and carry goods away.
>> Get some sleep. On the night before the sale, put up a sign in front of your house that says, “Absolutely no early birds.” Otherwise, you’ll have people knocking at your door before the sun is up.
