Public invited to weigh in on changes to Kent’s
Comprehensive Plan and City Code
KENT, Wash. – August 9, 2011 – The Economic and Community Development Department is inviting the public to weigh in on the important opportunities and challenges that the City’s planning documents, land use plan and zoning maps, and regulations present to economic development and neighborhood vitality.
The city of Kent needs input from the public on what the city should focus on. This annual review, called docketing, can move forward as a simple yearly update or as part of a more comprehensive update that is required by the Washington State Growth Management Act to take place every seven years.
“We need to know if the comprehensive plan and development regulations create any barriers to the city growing responsibly, equitably, and with environmental and neighborhood sensitivity,” said Fred Satterstrom, Kent’s Planning Director. “This is the community’s opportunity to participate in making changes.”
Ideas for the annual update are due by September 1, 2011.
