All other city departments are open to the public Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. with the exception of federally recognized holidays.

According to Kent Chief Administrative Officer John Hodgson, the primary changes are the lunch hour closure of the Mayor’s office and reduced hours for the Police Records Office, which was previously open 24 hours per day.

“Due to economic conditions forcing employee layoffs, existing staff are needed to cover other departments where there is more demand from the public,” said Hodgson. “These changes will allow us to continue providing those services with minimal impact.”

The changes apply only to office hours (walk-in); there will be no changes to online services including city utility bill payments, police reporting, class registrations or resident requests.

Emergencies should be reported by calling 911.
