Winter Snow 2012 9If Mother Nature’s rampage during last week’s snow and ice storm left your yard with a pile of branches, relief is available! Thanks to King County, residents may dispose of woody debris at the dumpsters at Kent’s Russell Road Park, 24400 Russell Road (across from the gold course), this Saturday and Sunday, January 28th and 29th, from 9:00am-3:00pm, and again the following weekend. Workers will be on hand to assist in unloading. To help speed up the removal process, it is recommended to place material on a tarp or sheet of plastic.

Please note, this collection is only for wood debris. Stumps, logs and limbs no longer than six feet in length are allowed – no brush, leaves, grass clippings, sod or soil can be accepted. People bringing wood debris are reminded to secure their loads. Road litter from unsecured loads is not only unattractive, it poses a serious hazard. On average, there are 350 accidents involving road debris on Washington highways each year. Fines for littering are expensive. For more information, call 253-586-5549.
